The Thimble Island chain consists of 25 small rocky, wooded islands topped with beautiful summer cottages built during the Victorian Era-complete with ginger bread trimmings. Some isles have many homes and some just have one, all the islands are private except for one, Outer Island is trusted to the Federal Fish and Wildlife Department. It’s a WATER WORLD! The ‘Thimbles’ are a boating paradise and you’ll see kayakers, sailboaters, fishing boats, islanders, water skiers and ferry boats “toing and froing” while enjoying the great outdoors.
You pick up our boat at the Stony Creek Town Dock located in the quaint seaside village of Stony Creek, Connecticut.

Make it a half day or full day sojourn! In the village you will find two fine deli’s for a sandwich, coffee or scone, art galleries, a museum and antique shops for browsing and even some B and B’s. There are parks, walks, and benches to sit upon. Only 15 minutes out of New Haven and 2 hours out of New York City, Stony Creek and Thimble Islands presents you with a slice of New England living.
